Belize Ocean Club 2018 Charity Program
Please consider matching our $1 per night charitable donation next time you stay with us
We are thrilled to announce our 2018 charity program. We donate $1 for every reservation, every night. If you are staying at Belize Ocean Club in the coming months, we invite you to take a look at the charities we will be working with and ask you to match our donations during your stay.
St. Mary's The Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church
Located in Big Falls Village, Toledo District, St. Mary's Church was build in 1993. It supports and attends to 32 families weekly. This program hits close to home for one of our team members. The Minister is the mother of a Belize Ocean Club's manager and is in need of outside support to maintain operations, fix windows, doors, leaky ceiling and provide resources for individual families. With your help, we raised $2,776 BZ in the month of January.
Placencia International Academy
Their goal is to educate students ranging in ages from 3 to 13 to become independent thinkers, lifelong learners, to pursue academic excellence and individual achievement. With your help, we raised $2,660 BZ in the month of Febuary.
Placencia Humane Society
PHS and BOC are celebrating!!! Lucky, the miracle dog rescued in the middle of the Caribbean Sea makes national news in the U.S.! PHS assisted in fostering Lucky, a dog recued by a guest of Belize Ocean Club, providing him veterinarian services, and arranged for his transport to his loving home in the U.S. with Bob Bozarth and Brian Johnson. Bob and Brian were staying at Belize Ocean Club as part of the Dive for Life group. It’s due to the generous donations of citizens and organizations that PHS can continue to improve and enhance the quality of life for the animals on the Placencia Peninsula by promoting and demonstrating responsible pet ownership and educating the community it serves.
Fragments of Hope
Their goal is to re-seed devastated reefs with genetically robust, diverse and resilient corals that will mature to spawning age/size, and at the same time begin to understand the biology and mechanisms of coral bleaching.
St. John's Preschool Placencia
St. John's memorial Preschool is our newest school in Placencia, founded in September 2009. It currently has a role of 42 children from 3 years old.
Marla's House of Hope
Marla’s House of Hope in Belmopan is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the very best physical, psychological, and spiritual care for children who are neglected and/or abused. All of the children come to them from homes in crisis. These children are not orphans, but they are without a home because of abuse, neglect, and/or other difficult family situations.
Help Age is a community-based organization founded to support senior citizens in our small town. Our beneficiaries are elders who suffer from abandonment, isolation, loneliness, poor health and poverty. At present we serve 30 seniors, (17 women and 13 men), they are between the ages of 65 and 96. Two times a week we deliver meals to the 30 seniors, for many that is their only balanced meal for the day.
